Muntinlupa is well known as the 'Emerald City of the Philippines' because of being highly urbanized and it is also the home of some of the best establishments and shopping areas such as the Alabang Town Center and Festival mall, but aside from that, one of the most known store in Muntinlupa City is the Japanese Taiyaki Store.
At first you will not notice their store because it is just small and not so fancy but this store was known as the Legendary Taiyaki Seller in Muntinlupa City. They are the first ever store to sell Taiyaki here in the Philippines. A Japanese and Filipina couple started this business and they've been selling Taiyaki for almost 12 years at Poblacion, Muntinlupa in front Muntinlupa Police Station.
Taiyaki is a Japanese fish cake that imitates the shape of Tai (some kind of fish in Japan) where its name was derived. It is like the Japanese Round Cake that we know here in the Philippines but this one is authentic and unlike the Japanese round cake, this fish cake has a red bean paste or Custard filling inside.
